Enriching and empowering women through thoughtful, evidence-based mental health care.

I am an Emory and UCSF-trained board-certified psychiatrist with sub-specialty training in reproductive psychiatry as well as addiction. In my practice, I carefully evaluate medical, psychiatric, environmental, genetic, and hormonal factors that may be affecting wellbeing. Based on this full picture, I provide individualized treatment recommendations that may include lab testing, lifestyle changes, and psychiatric medication when appropriate. My goal is to offer thoughtful, evidence-based care that helps each patient feel understood and empowered in their mental health journey.

About me

My work in reproductive psychiatry is grounded in a long-standing interest in how mind, body, and environment interact to shape women’s mental health.

That interest began in my undergraduate studies at Emory University, where I researched the effects of psychosocial stress and infertility in a neuroendocrinology lab. I continued at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, earning a Master of Philosophy in Psychology and Neural Sciences while studying gender differences in cognition and attention. Returning to Atlanta, I coordinated research with the Grady Trauma Project at Emory examining how trauma and depression impact the metabolic health of Black women with type 2 diabetes. These experiences deepened my understanding of the biological and social factors that influence emotional and physical wellbeing and taught me to take an expert approach to scientific literature.

I went on to complete medical school and psychiatry residency at Emory University, where I trained with leaders in reproductive psychiatry through a year-long women’s mental health clinic rotation. Following residency, I completed a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco, and later pursued advanced training in Reproductive and Integrative Psychiatry.

Through Atlanta Psychiatry for Women, my goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based, and compassionate care for people navigating reproductive and hormonal transitions throughout life. My career has been dedicated to understanding the complex relationship between biology and emotional wellbeing—to help each person feel informed, supported, and empowered in their mental health journey.

What is Reproductive Psychiatry, and who is it for?

Reproductive psychiatry focuses on mental health conditions related to hormonal and reproductive life events, such as menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, and menopause. While reproductive psychiatry centers on the effects of female sex hormones, I recognize that these issues can affect people of all genders.

Atlanta Psychiatry for Women is for anyone experiencing mental health challenges connected to reproductive transitions or hormone-related changes, or for those who seek psychiatric care that acknowledges the unique ways reproductive and hormonal factors influence mental health.
